In this position you will support the Vegetable germplasm development. Your main responsibilities will include the preparation, execution and monitoring of the breeding trials.
Into actionOther important tasks will refer to the management of logistic processes for leaf samples, plants, seeds and crossing at several breeding stations and laboratories within Syngenta. Furthermore you will be involved in the plant evaluation and selection for variety development.
The ChallengeIn this highly dynamic multi-disciplinary environment you will take care of the coordination, planning and execution of breeding projects in Brassica crops such as cauliflower, cabbage, and broccoli. You will work together with other functions, such as genotyping, phytopathology, cell biology, operations, and trialing.
Your ProfileThis position requires at least a Bachelors in a biology field (Applied Biology, agriculture, horticulture, plant breeding or other related discipline). You are strong in planning, logistics, and administration and are able to work under time pressure at times. You are skilled at communication and a team player. Excellent written and oral English is required and Dutch is preferred. You are comfortable using Excel and working with large datasets.
